Natural Body Scrubs...

Women from long ago cared for their skin with oatmeal and milk, and Cleopatra was legendary for her milk baths.

Honey was extremely valuable in ancient days and a symbol of divine blessing. Women applied it to their skin, along with oils, as part of their bathing ritual.

Body scrubs have always been a beauty must. Cleopatra's slaves rubbed her down with granulated honey and myrrh, while  lesser Egyptians of the day used scrubs of pumice, barley hulls and goat's milk.

Body scrubs include recipes containing grains, nut shells, sugars, salts and other minerals to scrape away the dead shin layers and leave fresh skin behind. With the help of natural ingredients, a good scrub can bring  nutrients to the skin and make it feel soft and nourished.

Honey Body Scrub

The following recipe makes ½ cup of body scrub. This is enough for one time use. 10 tablespoons of honey

5 tablespoons of brown sugar

¼ cup of oatmeal

5-10 drops of lavender essential oil

Mix all the ingredients together and use in the shower. Apply in circular motion, starting with the feet and finishing at the face. Live the scrub for two to three minutes and rinse. Pat dry and enjoy a soft skin.

The use of oatmeal in the body scrub recipe makes it a less aggressive scrub for sensitive skin. Oatmeal  helps relieve the itchiness that dry skin can cause.

The properties of honey and other natural ingredients in this recipe will make your skin feel soft and touchable.
